Zenith Tonguepan

Zenith means “the point in the sky or celestial sphere directly above an observer,” or “the time at which something is most powerful or successful.”

The Zenith Tonguepan is a professional level instrument, comparable in craftsmanship to some of the finest handmade instruments in the world.   It has deep bass, clear highs, and a beautiful layered timbre created by the harmonic series built into every tongue.  Tuning an instrument of this caliber to our standards requires a high level of human skill and a well trained musical ear to achieve successfully.  The Zenith comes with a special geometric design that is etched deeply into the metal, a rich antique patina, and silky powder-coat, making them luxurious in every way.

Technical Information: The Zenith tonguepan is a 12 note, steel percussion instrument that has a tuned harmonic series in every tongue (2-5 partials, depending on the note). It is made from 2 hydro-formed shells of our special high-carbon material, 19” (48cm) in diameter, with a 3mm thick top shell for great note clarity and sustain. Like our smaller Helios tonguepan, the Zenith comes with our special “technomantic” patina and clear-coat finish, as well as a built in pick-up system, rubber feet, rubber rim, and laser etched sound hole plug.  Included Accessories:  Instructional Booklet, Mallets, Certificate of Authenticity.

Legal Disclaimer:

*Caution* Please read these safety instructions before purchasing this product!
Playing your Steel Tongue Drum too hard can cause the tongues to bend, and cause the notes to dip slightly out of tune. To avoid this, we suggest using finger-tips, thumbs or soft-strikes with the mallets we provide to play your drums. It does not require a large amount of force to create a large sound from our instruments.
*Choking Hazard* Mallets, Magnets, and other small parts can provide a choking hazard to young children and pets. Never leave young children alone with the mallets or magnets unsupervised as serious injury or loss of life can occur.
*Dropping Danger/Heavy Instrument* Danger! Steel instruments are heavy and can cause serious damage to persons or property if dropped. Make sure hands are dry and clean before attempting to move the instrument.
